Study counselors create a study chart for each student. We always keep track of the students' learning status and provide individualized career guidance.

4 Skills of English
from the basics

This is a one-year course to relearn the four English skills of reading, listening, writing, and speaking from the basics. Students will have many opportunities to practice the phrases they learn in class and experience the joy of speaking English.

A Window of Learning Open to Students with Diverse Backgrounds Window of Openness for Learning

Some have blanks after graduating from high school, and others are experienced working adults who have reached retirement age. We provide generous support for each student, and those who are anxious about "learning at school" can also learn according to their own objectives.

Students who have good grades and attendance in class and have obtained a TOEIC? score of 500 or higher or a Level 2 of the Practical English Proficiency Test by December are eligible to transfer to the second year of the English Major Course. Some students may choose to enter a two-year course other than the English Major Course, or use their basic English language skills to find employment or enter another university.

Career paths

PICK UP CLASSES

Study Counseling

Students meet with a study counselor once a week on a regular basis. The counselor will provide extensive advice on study methods suited to each individual student, as well as formulate a plan necessary to achieve future goals.

Japan Studies

Students will learn how Japanese culture, such as Japanese food, anime, and fashion, is communicated around the world in English, and develop the ability to communicate about Japan in English.

English phonetics

Students will learn the basic pronunciation system of English in a practical way. Students will learn how to pronounce "vowels" and "consonants" that are typical of English, as well as "rhythm" and "intonation.
